ClixSense Review

ClixSense is a PTC and a GPT that has made some great upgrades on early 2011, beating NeoBux by far in the PTC world. Members earn a lot more from their ad clicks here and from other different methods as well. Upgrading is affordable (only $17/year) and includes a bonus of 1000 free ad credits for advertising (only once). ClixSense also provides tasks, surveys and offers for extra earning (just like a GPT).

ClixSense provides 4 types of ads for clicking. Micro ads are worth $0.001, Mini are $0.005, Standard are $0.01, and Extended are $0.02. I can't say how many of each are available a day for free members since I've been upgraded for more than 3 years now, but Premium members usually get more than 4 Standard ads (sometimes 8), some Mini ads (around 4) and quite a lot of Micro ads.

PTC Meets GPT

If you're not into PTC, ClixSense is also a GPT site. There's surveys to fill out, offers to complete, and tasks to work on. Each category pays a lot more than by clicking on ads, however, a lot of people like PTCs for their simplicity and short time consuming. Surveys, offers and tasks have complications and may sometimes be unreliable to credit for certain reasons. Not to mention, completing offers requires multiple email accounts to avoid getting spam in your personal accounts from unethical sponsors. But nonetheless, as any other GPT, knowing how to work on these extra categories does make a larger potential to earn a lot higher than by just participading in the PTC section.

Since I'm not too fond of working with GPT tasks, I will mention that one of my referrals from March 1st, 2013, completed 2,524 tasks on ClixSense in the whole month of March, and made $94.08 out of them. She also did numerous PTC clicks and 61 offers, so she earned well over $140 in just that month alone (and as a free member without referrals).

ClixSense Affiliate Program

The affiliate program that ClixSense provides is overall decent at best. Regardless of membership level, first level referrals earn the referrer $2.00 when upgrading to the Premium membership. But, Premium members themselves earn another $1 from their 2nd to 8th levels. As for referral ad click commissions: Micro ads are $0.0002; Mini ads are $0.001; Standard ads are $0.002; and Extended ads are $0.004 (Premium members earn double from each). They also have a pretty great status report on referrals' activities and from what web link they came from.

Downside is, the referral program needs improvement. Referral earnings for free members is rather low, but for the upgraded, it's pretty good. Referrers only earn 5% (10% for Premium members) from their referrals' tasks, offers and survey earnings. For the typical GPT, the percentage is usually 20%, such as what TreasureTrooper and CashCrate offer. But since ClixSense started as — and is considered more as — a paid to click service, their overall PTC affiliate program is still decent.

ClixGrid

Members also have a chance to win up to $5 instantly at ClixSense through a game called ClixGrid. Free members may click the game's image grid 25 times a day while Premium members have 50 times a day. As for advertisers, it only takes $17 for a month to advertise on ClixGrid for 19,000+ page views!

Pros

Responsive, fast, and with connections encrypted in 256-bit, this is one of the safest and most reliable PTCs out there. Free and upgraded members earn $2 from their 1st level referrals upgrading to Premium, while Premium members earn another $1 from their 2nd to 8th level referrals. Upgrading is affordable, worth it, and not risky (even without referring, you still profit). And when upgrading, 1000 credits are issued free to use for advertising (only once). Not to mention there are now many ways to earn — with surveys, offers and tasks in which you can earn over $100 alone without referrals a month.

Cons

I must say, free members are not treated very fairly on this PTC. Referral ad click earnings are significally lower than Premium's and there are hardly any Standard ads available for them. Also, there is a fee deduction for getting paid (regardless of your membership level); 2% to 2.5% plus $0.25 up to $4.25 for PayPal/Payza and a hefty $1.50 for North American checks (international checks are more expensive and must have a minimum cashout of $100). LibertyReserve is only a $0.25 fee, though. Sponsors (referrers) only earn 5% from their referrals' GPT activitis (10% for the upgraded).

Conclusion

ClixSense is a definite a must-join for all PTC fans, especially now that they've gone GPT. Upgrading is only $17 per year, which is very affordable and you still profit even without referring anyone. This PTC is so well established and honest that even PayPal (which doesn't support PTCs) still supports it. Nonetheless, free members don't benefit much from ClixSense because of the lower amount of provided ads and lower referral commissions. However, upgrading is very affordable and has great benefits. NeoBux and ClixSense made a lot of changes in early 2011. NeoBux was better than ClixSense before that time but the tables then turned drastically. I believe that even free members at ClixSense are still better off than with NeoBux. It only takes $8 to cash out through PayPal, Payza and LibertyReserve. And just like any other PTC and GPT, the best and easiest way to earn big is by referring others.
